Kathrine Contrary
Painting Artist
I’m a Brisbane/Meanjin based oil painter. My art is a modern minimalist style of bright colours and little fuss. Maths is the key to my art making blocks sit in carefully, yet randomly, arranged still life set ups. There is a deep sense of nostalgia and play in my paintings. As a person my general nature is quite playful and quirky. You’ll find me hunting for vintage brooches or the perfect vinyl soundtrack for life when I’m not painting.
