Irena A. James
Artist working across Painting • Photography • Mixed Media • Drawing
Irena is a Brisbane-based artist of Polish origin, whose work explores colour, light and atmosphere, shaped by experiences in living in the United States and Australia. Using acrylics, she creates expressive personal interpretations of seascapes, birds and flora, rather than strict realism and is guided by intuition, her love of colour, and artistic licence. Photography informs her process, capturing moments that inspire her paintings, which aim to convey warmth, joy and a connection to nature.
