Christine Taylor Art

Hello, I’m Christine Taylor, a watercolour artist with a deep love for the wild beauty of Australia. Born in 1964 and raised in New Zealand until the age of 11, and as a family migrated to Murwillumbah in Northern New South Wales, Australia, where I grew up alongside my two sisters. My dad was always taking us on outdoor adventures, instilling in me a lifelong appreciation for nature and animals. Those early years exploring the great outdoors shaped my soul and continues to inspire my art today. I’ve always been drawn to peaceful, rural settings, sustainability, and the simple joys of country living. Although I spent my early adult years in Sydney pursuing a career in nursing, my heart never stopped longing for the stillness and beauty of the Australian bush. My journey has taken me through many paths such as nursing, phlebotomy, veterinary nursing, receptionist work, teaching vegetarian cooking, and even running an equine and family portrait photography business. Each chapter added a new layer to my story, but it wasn’t until June 2024 that I discovered my true passion: watercolour painting of our amazing Australian birds and wildlife! Encouraged by friends and family to share my art with the world, I took the leap and haven’t looked back. Painting brings me immense joy, and I pour that happiness into every piece I create. My favourite subjects are the vibrant birdlife, unique wildlife, and unique botanicals of Australia, each painting is a celebration of the marvellous creation surrounding us. My hope is that my art brings a sense of joy, love, and peace into your home, just as creating it does for me. With Warmth & Joy Christine
